OPENING A NATURAL WINE BAR - FUNFUN - MADRID

talking with Antonella about her life, how she decided to become her own boss and the hurdles that come with it and the mindset she adopted

as it seems this is how we kick off the year on Substack.

I’ve been wanting to figure out how to upload the interviews I’m recording
to the platform and it seems now is the moment.

the video you see in this e-mail was recorded in january 2022
inside of the natural wine bar FunFun owned by the lovely lady in the video: Antonella

I remember starting this project with all the enthusiasm in the world
just to realize the immense amount of work that comes with it
and giving up.

this file and another interview I did close in time to this one
have been sleeping on my hard drive for 3 years now

I have decided that’s enough

I’ve been fearing the moment of the upload
I’ve been fearing the workload that comes with it

but mostly, I’ve been somehow afraid of the impact it will have
while I also realize that the world has not been waiting for me.

It felt as if everything would change as soon as I hit the “UPLOAD” button,
not because it would take off like crazy and get exrtreme success
but more so of what would change for me and my surroundings
…when in reality the world keeps turning just the same.

finally picking this heart project back up
is slowly teaching me to do things for me again

you know how everyone online is telling you to find your why?

well it made me try to find a reason

  • why I enjoy doing this

  • why it will be of value

  • why anyone would watch it

  • why I feel the urge to make it happen

when in reality I don’t need a why.

the simple fact of me doing it because it feels good is enough

of course I hope for it to grow and attrackt likeminded people

of course I hope for it to reach the ones that need it and inspire them

but above all I am doing it because I want to and I can.

maybe this is not what you wanted to hear in relation to this publication
but it is what you got and it damn well has value in every letter
if you’re willing to accept that the process itself
and they joy growing from it
is the most valuable thing
you’ll see today.
